Who Am I?

Well, inquisitive reader, let me answer. I am a wife, a mom and I have chronic bad hair. I like made uppy words and Unnecessary Capitalization. If you know who the guy in the bottom right picture is, you're probably my best friend. Also, I own several Edward dolls which I write about HERE. No, I don't use drugs. By the way, if your love canned tomatoes, visit my stash HERE.

Who I write like

So yesterday, I was reading my buddy and pal, Elegant Bloggery, where she listed a link you could use to find what famousy writer you write like.

I was game.

So I clicked the link, submitted the first page of my meager book and this is what it came up with:

I write like
Stephen King
I Write Like by Mémoires, Mac journal software. Analyze your writing!

I kid you not.  I know.  I'm in shock, too.

Anyhow, this made me really happy.  Perhaps I can do this writing thing after all.

Happiness is...

...Photoshop.

This photo is of my sweet family at Christmas about...oh, idk, 5 or so years ago.

Now, sure I like it because we're all posed and smiling and no one is making bunny ears or squinting or has a wayward blink and my kids aren't fighting or crying or screaming they have to potty RIGHT NOW.  But what I really like about this pic it is that my Hubs worked his magicy fingers on the computer and made this pic pretty.

Initially, my oldest child, Emma, was on my left, which made the pic out of balance.  So my Hubs cut her out and moved her to stand in front of him.  Then he colored in my boobs, because guess what?  I was totally wearing a white bra underneath that black sweater.  Guess how long it took me to realize this?  Yeah, you don't wanna know.

Happiness is...

...Noro yarn.

Also, it was like, a fraction of the cost.  So, even more happiness abounds.
Only about 1 in 10 people know what Noro yarn is.  Those one persons are excited for me too.
The other 9 are not so impressed and are only staring at that vein in my forehead.

Happiness is...

...having breakfast in bed.

This was my Mother's Day breakfast, made lovingly by my kids.

...actually, there was some fighting going on in the kitchen over who was going to spread the butter, but whatever.

My breakfast included two pieces of toast, the last tiny bit of pink lemonade, a tootsie roll and a dum dum.

And it was mighty tasty.

Happiness is...

...losing enough weight to be able to put on your wedding rings.

I wear three rings.  My engagement ring was my Hubs' grandmother's ring from like, 40 years ago.  My Hubs bought two supah sparkly bands to go on either side.  As the jeweler said, I am certainly making a statement.

Except for the last year or two, when my fingers have been a wee bit too fat to make much of a statement other than "please don't mistake me for the breakfast sausage!".

So it was with a sigh of relief that had nothing to do with gastric emissions that I slipped on all three of my wedding bands today.

Happiness is...

Going through old scrapbooks and your kids loving every second.

This pic is from a page in my youngest daughter's scrapbook.
Addie had a Monkey birthday when she turned two.
And I made a Monkey Head Cake.
That scared the kids when I hacked into it with a giant knife.
Good times...good times.

Happiness is...

...passing out dollar bills like I'm at a strip club.

This picture is my daughter, Addie, who lost her first tooth,
which escalated her to the official BIG KID status.

Lean in a little closer and you'll hear me crying.

This is in conjuncture with The Happiness Project put on by Leigh vs. Laundry.

What makes you happy?

My debut in The Happiness Project

You know what makes me happy?  I love making stuff for people.  I can't say that they love it when I make stuff for them, but that's not what this is about, is it?  I get a high when I take a piece of fabric, some string or old sweaters and do a little magic.  Sometimes, seriously cool stuff is the end product.

Recently, I made some felty foods for my youngest niece.  Which led to a custom order for a friend.  Which led to a whole lotta sewing at Chez Murphy.  It's so creative and challenging and it is so.much.fun!

This makes me very happy.

Felt doritos and a chip bag.
